Reebok Jurassic Park Sneakers are full of Millions of Awesome

Check out these Jurassic Park-inspired shoes, hoodies and T-shirts from Reebok.

To bring out the inner child of today’s sneaker fanatic, footwear marketers have been going to excellent film franchises from ancient times (and by ancient, we mean the 1990s). Reebok’s collaboration with Universal Brand Development and Jurassic Park, the iconic action/fantasy film that transported the most dangerous dinosaurs from millennia ago to the current day, is the next step in this trend. Reebok took the iconic appearance and feel of the original 1993 film and transferred it to its current product line, which includes both classic and modern silos.

Jurassic World: Dominion, the series’ sixth and final installment, will not be released until June 2022. Meanwhile, these shoes for kids and adults merge the DNA of Reebok’s most well-known sneakers with the iconography of Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster. They’ll be available in unisex sizes on July 30.

Reebok went to great lengths to recreate the film’s original laboratory headquarters, with each silhouette being inspired by a specific set item that has remained etched in the minds of 80s kids to this day. The Pump Omni Zone II is based on a Dilophosaurus hatchling, while the Alien Stomper’s all-black design mirrors the InGen staff’s protective gear. The Ford Explorer touring vehicle’s decal wrap and Dennis Nedry’s Club C, which bears his flowery pattern shirt, inspired the Instapump Fury. The rest of the collection includes the Club C Revenge, Classic Leather, and Zig Kinetica.
The whole Jurassic Park x Reebok footwear collection will be available on Reebok.com and select retailers starting July 30th, with prices ranging from $100 to $200. An accompanying apparel collection will also be available on Reebok.com and select retailers.

Keep your boots on: The new Reebok x Jurassic Park footwear and accessories allows you to immerse yourself in the legendary dinosaur film.

The unsung hero that made Jurassic Park even possible finally gets the praise he deserves with Reebok’s $100 Club C Legacy featuring a cartoon Mr. DNA strand beneath the clear outsole on the bottom of the left shoe, paired with a mosquito graphic on the underside of the right. A cracked egg motif can also be found on each shoe’s collar, with ‘90s-appropriate color palettes completing the look.

The Club C Legacy pays homage to Mr. DNA, the cartoon character who explained the process of re-creating dinosaur DNA.

Who wouldn’t want to hop aboard one of Jurassic Park’s red and tan utility Jeeps for an unfettered tour of the island that regular tourists will never get to see? Reebok has redesigned its $140 Zig Devil Kinetica II to pay homage to those humble utility vehicles, with a tongue featuring leather webbing, detailing inspired by the vehicles rear-view mirrors and the electric fences surrounding each paddock, and a midsole speckled with simulated mud.

There’s a lot to process with the $120 Reebok Classic Leather, inspired by Dr. Ian Malcolm’s (Jeff Goldblum) fascination with both fashion and chaos theory. One half of each shoe is finished with black leather embossed with the JP initials, while the other half is a patchwork of fabrics with various textures and patterns including floral and jungle designs. Each pair also features a faux turquoise stone brooch on the tongue, similar to the necklace Malcolm wears in the movie.

If you prefer function over form, the $200 Reebok Jurassic Stomper draws inspiration from the non-descript uniforms donned by InGen workers in the field. The all-black leather sneakers feature an adjustable strap in lieu of laces, a simulated strip of hazard tape on the back, the iconic Jurassic Park logo on the tongue, and multiple velcro patches that can be swapped out depending on where you want to work in the fictional corporation.

Even the dino that did Nedry in is getting its own sneakers, with the $200 Reebok Omni Zone II Dilophosaurus edition. The most dinosaur-looking of the entire lineup, the shoe features a base made of green nubuck leather (that’s been buffed to feel like a soft fabric) with areas featuring a simulated skived finish, where layers of leather have been sliced off. You’ll also find the Jurassic Park T-Rex mark on the pump ball, and a bright indigo interior lining…because the frilled Dilophosaurus was definitely flashy.

Conclusion

In addition to the adult-sized footwear, the line also features an additional Classic Leather and Zig Dynamica in grade school, preschool and infant sizing, as well as a full range of complementary adult’s apparel in unisex sizing. Highlights of the apparel collection include a Mr. DNA hoodie, utility vest to match the Jurassic Stomper and a variety of Reebok x Jurassic Park-themed t-shirts.

Rounding out the collection is an assortment of elevated footwear packaging. A portion of the boxes will resemble original Jurassic Park toy packaging from 1993, while others will draw on themes from the film including Nedry’s infamous fake shaving cream can, the cages and padlocks used in the park to keep dinosaurs contained, and even Mr. DNA.
