ios 15 Features

Here are some cool features of the ios 15 you need to know.

Face ID With a Mask

With iOS 15.4, you may now unlock your iPhone while wearing a mask without the use of any additional hardware, such as the Apple Watch. Full-face ID is the more secure option, according to Apple, although mask Face ID is now accessible.

After updating to iOS 15.4, you can use Face ID with a mask, which is designed to use the region surrounding your eyes for authentication. It works with glasses but not sunglasses, and you must be staring at the iPhone while wearing a mask to unlock it.

New emoji characters are a common feature of spring iOS upgrades, and iOS 15.4 is no exception. Emoji 14 is now supported in the update, which adds 37 new emoji and 75 new skin tones for a total of 112 new characters.

Melting face, saluting face, face with open eyes and hand over mouth, face with peeking eye, face with diagonal mouth, and dotted line face are among the new faces, while biting lip and bubbles are among the new emojis.
Heart hands, rightwards hand, leftwards hand, palm down hand, palm up hand, hand with index finger and thumb crossed, index pointing at the viewer, and an upgrade to the handshake emoji are among the new hand emojis.

New items include a nest with eggs, an empty nest, an x-ray, a crutch, a playground slide, a wheel, a ring buoy, a hamsa, a mirror ball, a jar, an identification card, and a low battery, as well as coral and lotus plants and animals. In terms of fantasy characters, we can expect a new troll emoji, as well as new culinary items such as eggs, beans, and flowing fluids.

Vaccination Records in the Health App

Verifiable health records now support adding vaccination records in the EU Digital COVID Certificate format to the Health and Wallet apps, so those in EU countries can add their vaccine cards to the Wallet app for easy access.

Tap to Pay on iPhone

The “Tap to Pay on iPhone” feature in iOS 15.4 allows NFC-compatible iPhones to take payments via Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards, and other digital wallets without the need for additional hardware.

In iOS 15.4, Tap to Pay is enabled, however it requires third-party suppliers to add support. Stripe has announced that it will be the first payment provider to enable Tap to Pay to business customers, including Shopify users, on the iPhone. Support for the feature will be available in Apple Stores in the United States later this year.

The Tap to Pay function is only available on the iPhone XS and later, and it allows compatible iOS apps to take payments between iPhones. A merchant can ask a consumer to complete payment over NFC by holding their iPhone, Apple Watch, contactless credit or debit card, or other digital wallets next to the merchant’s iPhone at checkout. The function, like Apple Pay, accepts rewards cards and refunds.

Emergency SOS

To place an emergency call, Emergency SOS now employs the Call with Hold feature by default. Press and hold the side and volume buttons until a countdown begins to initiate an emergency call. Following that, the iPhone will contact emergency services.
The previous press five times to make a call option is still available, but it must be enabled in the Settings app’s Emergency SOS section.

TV App Customization

In the TV section of the Settings app under “Preferences,” you can now choose “Still Frame” or “Poster Art” options for the Up Next Display in the app. Still Frame shows still frames from what you’re watching, while Poster Art shows the main title images for shows or movies.

iCloud Keychain Notes

iCloud Keychain users can now add notes to any password entry, bringing ‌iCloud‌ Keychain more in line with other password storing options like 1Password.

The new Keyboard Brightness option in iPadOS 15.4 can be added to the Control Center to alter the brightness of a connected keyboard with backlighting.

It works with Apple’s Magic Keyboard, but you’ll have to go to Settings > Control Center and hit the “+” button next to Keyboard Brightness to add it to Control Center.

Safari Translations
The translation feature in Safari now supports Italian and Chinese (Traditional).

Apple News
The Apple News app provides enhanced discovery of audio content in both the Today feed and the Audio tab.

Offline Siri Updates
Apple says that Siri can provide time and date information while offline on iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone 11 , or newer.
