Alphonso Davies “attacks” Harry Maguire, and he can’t believe Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t the captain of Manchester United.

Alphonso Boyle Davies is a Canadian professional football player who plays as a left-back or winger for reigning Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich, and the Canada national team.

Alphonso Davies can’t believe Harry Maguire is captaining Manchester United ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, and he goes on a brief rant to voice his surprise.

The Bayern Munich star has questioned why Man United hasn’t made Ronaldo captain over Maguire.

He reckons the five-time Ballon d’Or winner should get the armband, calling him one of the greatest players ever. Speaking on Twitch, he exclaimed: “Can you guys imagine. Can you guys imagine…

“You are Ronaldo… One of the greatest players ever. And what’s his name is your captain? Harry Maguire is your captain?”

The Canadian international added: “And you refer to him as ‘yes cap’. I don’t know what he says to him. Bro. I’m not dissing Harry Maguire but Ronaldo… Ronaldo should get the armband man.”

Alphonso Davies is regarded as one of the best full-backs in the world due to his pace, dribbling, and creativity. Davies was the first player born in the 2000s to play in a Major League Soccer (MLS) match. Davies joined Bayern Munich in January 2019 from MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps FC on a contract lasting until 2023 for a then-MLS record transfer fee. Davies was named the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season for 2019–20. In that season he also was part of the team winning the continental treble after Bayern won the Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League, and the DFB-Pokal.  He is considered by some to be the best left-back of his generation.

The England defender who plays as a center-back for Manchester United has been subjected to criticism from fans and critics alike this season following his showings for Man United.

And talks of Maguire being stripped of the captaincy were mooted earlier in the year.

A report had claimed interim Manchester United manager, Ralf Rangnick was set to relinquish Maguire of the Man United captaincy and make Ronaldo the new skipper.

But the interim boss slammed those claims. Speaking in February, he said: “Well to start with, I must say that this is absolutely nonsense.

“I have never spoken with any player about a possible change of captaincy, Harry is fully aware of that and so are Cristiano and all the other players.

“This has never been an issue for me, it’s me who decides who’s the captain and therefore there’s no need for me to speak about that with any other person.

“Harry is our captain and he will stay our captain until the end of the season and there is nothing else to say to add on to that.”

Harry Maguire, 29, came through the youth system at Sheffield United before graduating to the first team in 2011. He totaled 166 professional games for the club and was their Player of the Year three consecutive times, also featuring in the PFA Team of the Year for League One as many times. In 2014, he transferred to Hull City for £2.5 million, which loaned him to Wigan Athletic in 2015. He joined Leicester City in 2017 for an initial fee of £12 million. Two years later, he moved to Manchester United for a fee believed to be £80 million, a world-record amount for a defender, and within six months was appointed the club captain.
